Since being activated, Brandon Nimmo has reached safely in 28 of his 60 plate appearances, posting a .279/.467/.628 slashline in 18 games... Seth Lugo has struck out 100 in 76.0 innings, which places him tied for second in the NL in strikeouts as a reliever this season... The Mets haven't lost a season series to the Reds since 2013, a streak which will be on the line Sunday as the teams have split the first six games they have played against each other this season... Seven Mets have recorded 50 or more RBI this season, tying a franchise record.

Who is starting for the Mets?

RHP Marcus Stroman (9-13, 3.21 ERA), who turned in his best outing as a Met in his last time out on Tuesday. He held the Rockies scoreless over seven innings, limiting Colorado to four hits and a walk while striking out seven hitters, the longest start he's made as a Met. Setting aside a bump in the road with a tough start against the Phillies on Sept. 7, Stroman has gotten better and better each time he's taken the mound since the Mets acquired him prior to the trade deadline.

Who is starting for the Reds?

RHP Trevor Bauer (11-12, 4.41 ERA), who also came to his current team as part of a trade deadline deal. He's made nine starts for the Reds since leaving the Indians and has underperformed, pitching to a 2-4 record with a 6.39 ERA, with opposing batters hitting .267 over 49.1 innings. After an extremely rocky August, Bauer has settled in somewhat and delivered his best start as a Red in his last outing on Sept. 15, when he limited the D-backs to just one run on four hits over eight innings.

Upcoming schedule

The Mets return home to begin with final week of the regular season with a four-game series against the Marlins beginning Monday at 7:10 p.m. Steven Matz (10-9, 4.16 ERA) is set to get the ball for the Mets while the Marlins have yet to name a starting pitcher.
