It hasn't been the season Luis Rojas envisioned, especially the second half, on the field.

But despite the on-field struggles, the bond in the clubhouse is more than he could have ever asked for.

"We haven’t achieved what we wanted to achieve, but first of all, the atmosphere in the clubhouse has been, for me, one of the most important things that I can think of these last two years here and how everyone gets along in the clubhouse, how everyone just prepares and gets ready to play to go out there," Rojas told reporters on Thursday before the team's final home game of the season. "Even though we haven’t gotten the result, that’s the one thing I wanted to single out, that it’s been pretty special with both groups, last year’s group and this year, which I think it’s even more special than the 2020 group and how different that year was."

Despite a 101-117 record in two seasons as manager, both of which ended up without a postseason appearance, Rojas said he has "enjoyed" his time as the organization's manager.

“I enjoyed my time here the last two years being the manager. It’s been fun every day just working with the guys and connecting with them and preparing."

Rojas was asked how he wanted to be remembered if this was his final game as Mets manager at Citi Field, but he did not want to reflect on that just yet.

Rojas did the same in a recent interview with The Athletic.

"There’s no anxiety. There’s always to control what you can control and you’re going to be fine. Whatever happens, happens. I know I’m going to be fine," Rojas said.
