The Nets beat the Detroit Pistons 121-111 in overtime on Saturday night, as star point guard Kyrie Irving had one of his best games of the season, scoring 45 points to go along with seven assists and six rebounds in 40 minutes of action.

After the win, Irving talked about what the team's key to victory will be against the Knicks on Sunday.

"Get as much rest as we can, take care of our bodies in the morning time, and just come ready to play," Irving said. "Obviously we know they play pretty different at home, but it's still New York vs. New York, and we understand that. So it's going to be a pretty uptempo game, as well as the crowd will get into it, but you look forward to that."

The New Jersey native would go on to say that he recalls watching Nets vs. Knicks games as a kid, and looks forward to the matchup.

"I remember just as a kid, when I used to remember the Nets playing the Knicks and how much of a game that was," Irving said. "Especially on a Sunday, I know a lot of people will be there. Just come out with a focus and do the right things.

"Tomorrow, I don't think it's about starting fast or anything like that. It's just about weathering any storm, any run that they have, and being able to be aggressive still and move the basketball. And when we do that, and we're playing aggressive, like we showed tonight, that's the level that we got to play at consistently every single night in order to beat teams. I think we accomplished a lot of things tonight that we can carry over till tomorrow."

The Nets beat the Knicks 113-109 on Oct. 25, and 103-101 on Nov. 24, but they lost the last matchup 94-82 on Dec. 26. Sunday's game between the two teams will be the last time they face off this season.
