Knicks' first-rounder Kevin Knox has been taking the NBA world by storm. Well, at least the NBA Summer League for now.

Knox has shined in his first games as a Knick, and to his former college teammate Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, it doesn't come as a surprise. These two Kentucky Wildcats were both lottery picks, with Gilgeous-Alexander going to the Clippers.

Having ran the point for Kentucky, Gilgeous-Alexander knows what Knox is capable of on the floor. And there is more to what Knicks fans have seen so far from the 6-foot-9 forward.

"It's the same Kevin I saw day in and day out, but with the NBA spacing and better players around him," Gilgeous-Alexander told The Post's Marc Berman. "It's only making him better. I expected this from Kevin. I knew he was a really big talent and things like this were going to happen to him.

"Kevin has the ultimate potential. You see it at Summer League. He can play multiple positions. I think his game fits today's NBA."

But, having known Knox the way he does, Gilgeous-Alexander does see one thing he can improve on as the 18-year-old takes on his professional career.

"I would say the biggest thing is getting stronger for Kevin," he said. "He's so skilled. Obviously a guy being that young, you're going to need to get stronger. That's for a lot of rookies in the NBA. Once Kevin gets stronger, you'll see a different mindset."

But that is an improvement that will certainly come over time. Knox still has room to fill out his large frame, and even now, he has shown his aggressive nature no matter who is guarding him.

Overall, Gilgeous-Alexander thinks New York was the perfect fit for his friend.

"He wanted to go to a program that wanted him as much as he wanted them," he said. "That was the Knicks."
