Five things to know about Wednesday's game...

1) The Knicks led by three points about midway through the first quarter, but the Pistons answered right back on their next possession, and they held onto the lead for the rest of the game. In a game that featured only two lead changes, the Pistons controlled things for most of the night. Andre Drummond was a problem inside for the Knicks all night long, as he finished with 27 points and 12 rebounds. The Pistons as a team, meanwhile, shot 55.7 percent from the floor. What was just a five-point game at the half ended up becoming a 20-point win for the Pistons.

2) With Dennis Smith Jr. and Elfrid Payton still not available, Frank Ntilikina once again got the start at point guard for the Knicks, and he played well. The former lottery pick played his typically strong defense, but he was also efficient on the offensive end, shooting 5-of-7 from the floor, finishing with 11 points and four assists. Again, though, RJ Barrett handled a good amount of the ball-handling duties for the Knicks, finishing with 15 points and a team-best eight assists.

3) Julius Randle's night got off to a strong start. The power forward has been struggling with his shot in the early parts of his Knicks career, shooting just 4-of-13 in his last game against the Kings on Sunday, but he was much more efficient against Detroit. He also shot the ball better from beyond the arc. After entering the game shooting just 5.6 percent from beyond, Randle shot 3-for-5 from three-point range on Wednesday, finishing with 20 points, three rebounds, and two assists.

4) Early on in the first quarter, Mitchell Robinson took an inadvertent elbow to his head from Pistons forward Markieff Morris. After going down to the floor, Robinson did stay in the game. After just seven minutes of total playing time, however, Robinson was taken out of the game and did not return after halftime, when the Knicks announced that he'd been diagnosed with concussion-like symptoms. His night ended early with six points and four rebounds.

5) In the first battle of the season between the Morris brothers, Marcus finished the night with 18 points, including three three-pointers. Meanwhile, his brother Markieff added 22 points, four rebounds, and five assists. Midway through the fourth, Marcus was called for a travel and then slammed the ball down in frustration, resulting in a technical foul.
