- The Suns came out shooting in the second as they went on a 5-0 run to start. The Knicks tried to keep pace, but their shooting went cold. The Knicks shot just 26 percent from the field and scored only 17 points in the frame. Conversely, the Suns shot 43 percent as they took a 57-44 lead into halftime. No Knick had double-digit points in the first half with Fournier (9) and Kemba Walker (7) leading the team.

- The Knicks and Suns started the third quarter going back and forth. Whenever the Suns would extend the lead, the Knicks would go on a mini run to bring it back to 15 points. However, the Knicks could not sustain runs or limit the scoring from Phoenix. The Suns shot 58 percent while the Knicks could only muster 34 percent shooting. Walker was the star of the quarter for the Knicks scoring 10 of his 17 points up to this point.

- The Suns continued to put on the gas to start the fourth quarter as they extended their lead to 20-plus points. The Knicks would, again, have some mini runs but could not sustain and chip away at the Suns' lead. With four minutes remaining, Tom Thibodeau emptied his bench to give his starters some minutes off. Many of the young Knicks players, including Quentin Grimes, Miles McBride and Kevin Knox, received some minutes as they would bring the deficit to below 20 points, but ultimately the Suns would dominate and leave MSG with a 118-97 victory.

- Walker led the Knicks with 17 points. Immanuel Quickley posted 16 points while Julius Randle had just 9 points. The team as a whole shot just 37 percent while the Suns, who came in winners of 14 straight, shot 56 percent.
