The Knicks announced Tuesday they signed G Tyrius Walker.

Walker played with the Knicks during the summer league after signing an Exhibit 10 deal that could have been converted to a two-way contract, or see a $50,000 bonus if he was waived and joined the G-League Westchester Knicks.

It is unknown what kind of deal Walker signed exactly.

The 6-foot-1 guard was opened eyes out in Las Vegas this summer, averaging 6.3 points, 2.0 assists, and 1.7 steals over three games.

Walker was so close to giving up on basketball coming out of high school, as his original school -- Jacksonville State -- fired their head coach before he enrolled. He was under-recruited due to coaches thinking he was too small, but one school gave him a chance: Division II Morehouse College.

"I had already stopped basketball after I figured it was over with," Walker told The Undefeated's C. Isaiah Smalls II back in July, "and [Morehouse] Coach [Grady] Brewer just came to my house and was like, 'Don't give up. You're going to get where you want to be. Just stay patient.' "

That paitence has paid off, and Walker will have a chance to prove the Knicks they made the right decision in signing him during training camp.

"I feel like people are waking up now," Walker said. "But I'm definitely still going to do what I do and let it go from there. I just want to show New York and the rest of the team that I can bring winning back to their culture."
