The Knicks have postponed their 50th anniversary celebration of the 1969-70 championship team due to concerns about the coronavirus.

The celebration was scheduled to take place on March 21.

According to SNY's Ian Begley, players from that season's team had concerns about traveling to New York for the weekend due to the outbreak. All of that season's members are over the age of 70, and according to the CDC, the elderly are most vulnerable to the virus.

Rescheduling the event is not out of the question, according to the Post.

Players from that season's team scheduled to be at the celebration included Walt Frazier, Willis Reed, Bill Bradley, Dick Barnett, John Warren, Don May and Cazzie Russell, the Post said.

The NBA, along with other leagues, recently came down with restrictions regarding media access to players, banning media from locker rooms, and only leaving them available to players, coaches, general managers, and team and public relations staff members. Player availability is limited to designated areas outside the locker room, and media members must be at least six feet away from the players.
