The NBA announced the Western and Eastern Conference Players of the Month and Knicks’ point guard Jalen Brunson has been named the winner for the month of February.

Brunson led the Knicks to a 9-2 record last month while averaging 27.3 points, 6.0 assists and 4.3 rebounds per game. He also shot 52.9 percent from the field and 42.6 percent from beyond the arc.

It’s the first time the 6-foot-2 guard has won the award in his career. He's the first Knicks player to be named Player of the Month since Julius Randle, who was also a nominee for the award this month, took home the honor in April 2021.

The first-year Knick has catapulted New York this season with the team currently riding a seven-game winning streak, the second-longest in the NBA behind the Milwaukee Bucks. At 37-27, the Knicks are currently the fifth seed in the East and sit just 1.5 games behind the Cleveland Cavaliers for the fourth spot.

The award also comes on the back of Brunson’s All-Star selection snub as Randle was the lone selection from New York.

Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic was named the winner in the West.
