Knicks point guard Jalen Brunson continues progressing well in his recovery from a sprained right ankle.

Brunson, who has been out since March 6, recently shed his walking boot.

The team said prior to Saturday night's game that the two-time All-Star recently began doing controlled court work and they'll provide an update on his status in approximately a week.

Brunson, of course, suffered the injury when he landed awkwardly on his ankle on a shot attempt late in overtime during a meeting with the Los Angeles Lakers -- he knocked down a free throw before hobbling off to the locker room.

The 28-year-old has missed the last seven games, and New York has gone 3-4 over that span.

Head coach Tom Thibodeau said earlier this week that the team is hopeful he'll be able to return to the lineup down the stretch to help him get back into a rhythm heading into the playoffs.

Following Saturday's meeting with the Washington Wizards, New York has 12 more regular season games.
