The Knicks expect rookie Kevin Knox to return from a sprained left ankle when New York hosts the Chicago Bulls on Monday, according to the New York Post's Marc Berman.

Knox, who has been out since Oct. 20 when he suffered a left ankle sprain against the Boston Celtics, was cleared for practice on Tuesday and will need one more practice session to prepare for his return.

The Knicks have three games in the next four days, including back-to-back games Sunday at Washington and Monday at home against Chicago, and because they want to avoid Knox returning in a back-to-back situation, they plan to hold him out until Monday, according to Berman.

Knox suffered the injury on Oct. 20 when he collided with Celtics guard Terry Rozier on a fastbreak. Head coach David Fizdale previously said he would be pleased if Knox only missed two weeks, and a Monday return would mean Knox would miss seven games.

"[There's] no rushing at all," Knox said earlier this week. "I'm young. Of course I'm going to heal faster than most older guys, but we just make sure that when I come back I'm at least 100 to 110 percent. We're not rushing anything. Once I don't feel pain at all, that's probably the time I'm going to come back. I mean, 82 games, a lot of years to play, I don't want to risk nothing else."

Knox has averaged 9.3 points, 2.0 rebounds and 18.7 minutes per game through three games after being the ninth pick in June's draft.
