Knicks PG Elfrid Payton will miss Wednesday's game against the Pistons and Friday's game against the Mavericks as he continues to deal with a hamstring injury, the team said Tuesday.

Payton has missed the Knicks' last three games -- against Orlando on Oct. 30, against the Celtics on Friday, and Kings on Sunday.

The 25-year-old Payton has started at point guard multiple times this season, with Frank Ntilikina and Allonzo Trier also getting starts -- though Trier was paired in the backcourt with RJ Barrett and wasn't technically acting as a point guard.

Payton is averaging 8.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 3.8 assists in four games this season while averaging 25.5 minutes played per game.

The Knicks signed Payton to a two-year contract worth $16 million prior to the season.
