The Knicks reached an agreement with veteran forward Taj Gibson to a two-year, $20 million deal, SNY's Ian Begley confirmed.
Gibson, 34, is the second free agent the Knicks reached an agreement with after they lost out on Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, as they earlier reached a three-year deal with Julius Randle and also agreed to a deal with Bobby Portis, Begley reports.
A 6-foot-9, 232-pound power forward, Gibson averaged 10.8 points and 6.5 rebounds in 70 games with the Minnesota Timberwolves last season.
The Knicks, who entered this year's free agency period with approximately $70 million in cap space, missed out on Durant and Irving, who both reached four-year near-max deals with the Brooklyn Nets on Sunday.
New York has also expressed interest in Wayne Ellington, according to Begley.
ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski was first to report the Gibson deal.
