Jets star safety Jamal Adams says he has had "good" conversations with GM Joe Douglas and head coach Adam Gase, and that he and Douglas have apologized to each other, according to Manish Mehta of the NY Daily News.
"Yeah, I mean I would love to be here man," Adams said. "I would love to be here, it's simple as that. I want to bring success to this organization, I want to bring a Super Bowl to this organization. That's why I feel like I was placed in New York, to kind of pick up where my dad left off. His career was cut short, and I just feel like that's my calling. Do I want to be here? Yes, of course."
Since the trade deadline on Oct. 29, Adams has voiced his frustration with the team after he was reportedly shopped in trade negotiations with the Dallas Cowboys.
Douglas made it clear that the Jets weren't actively shopping Adams, but would listen when calls came in.
"It's been a very busy few hours, as you guys can imagine. We fielded a lot of phone calls on a lot of players. Some players it's been public, other players it hasn't been public," Douglas explained. "One thing I will say is that on the players that were leaked out today, those weren't players that we were shopping, but where I'm from and what I was taught is that when a team calls you, you should always listen to what they have to say.
After the deadline had passed, and Adams was still a member of the Jets, he went to Twitter to voice his frustration with the trade rumors.
At the end of the week last week, I sat down with the GM and Coach Gase and told them I want to be here in New York. I was told yesterday by my agent that the GM then went behind my back and shopped me around to teams, even after I asked him to keep me here! Crazy business.

Adams did not speak with Douglas and Gase immediately following the trade deadline, but did have a conversation with CEO Christopher Johnson on Nov. 1.
"Me and Mr. Johnson are really close," Adams said. "I have a lot of respect for him. ... that was the guy that I was comfortable with talking to. ... he cares not just about football players. He cares for you as a person."
Now that Adams has talked with Douglas and Gase, the drama between the two sides should disappear.
"It went well. I told them that I don't hate those guys. I got nothing but love for those guys," Adams said.
The Jets drafted Adams with the sixth overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, and since then, has made a major impact on defense. In 40 career games -- which he has started all of -- Adams has 240 combined tackles, 6.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries and two interceptions. He was a Pro Bowl selection in 2018 and made second-team All-Pro in 2018 as well.
