The Jets and defensive back Marqui Christian reportedly agreed to terms on a one-year deal last Saturday, but it now seems like the deal will not be finalized.
Per Brian Costello of the New York Post, the Jets and Christian could not agree to final contract terms, and the team is now moving on.
Christian, originally a fifth-round pick of Arizona in 2016, had reportedly agreed to a one-year, $1.25 million deal with Gang Green shortly after the team officially parted ways with Darryl Roberts.
His potential signing was viewed as more of a depth move for the Jets rather than an immediate need as a starter, as he likely would have slotted in as the team's third safety behind Jamal Adams and Marcus Maye.
In 55 career games, Christian has made one start while recording 83 combined tackles, including one tackle for loss.
