A day after the Jets secured their first win of the season, Jets head coach Adam Gase had a few injuries to inform the media about.

The biggest one -- and the one the Jets may worry about most heading into the new week -- was LT Kelvin Beachum sustaining a sprained ankle.

He is currently week-to-week, and the Jets are going to have to plan like he won't be available for the Jets' Monday night matchup against the undefeated Patriots. If that is the case, Brandon Shell, who currently serves as the team's right tackle, might have to shift over to the left side.

Also on the offensive side of the ball is TE Chris Herndon, who is still dealing with the hamstring injury he sustained just before he was eligible to return to the Jets. Gase said he is "progressing well" and "we're going to be smart with him."

Herndon was officially activated from his suspension, with LB Frankie Luvu being waived to make room for the Miami product. However, SNY's Ralph Vacchiano reported on Sunday that the Jets are expecting him to miss two games, so that would include the Pats matchup.

The defense is also hurting a bit. C.J. Mosley has yet to return to practice since he suffered his groin strain in Week 1, but that could change this week, Gase said. He wasn't kidding when he said it would be "a big step for us," as Mosley's presence in the middle of the defense would be a huge upgrade.

There is also LB Neville Hewitt, who suffered a stinger on Sunday and is day-to-day. Steve McLendon, the veteran defensive tackle, has a hamstring strain and is also day-to-day.

Having the extra day to rest with the Monday night game this week does help, and it's still early. Gase will be sure to see how his injured players are progressing and will hope he won't be adding anymore with a tough divisional matchup awaiting them in a week.
