At the end of Thursday night's game between the Browns and Steelers, Browns defensive end Myles Garrett hit Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph in the head with his own helmet, causing a massive brawl between the two teams.

Many NFL players were shocked to see such a violent act take place during a game, and it made Jets veteran offensive lineman Kelvin Beachum ask the question if Garrett could get in more trouble than just a suspension and fine.

"If he's going to be charged with assault or not?" Beachum told reporters."I think that should be a question... I mean, it's a slippery slope. But it's a possibility for sure."

Beachum wasn't the only one who asked such question, as ESPN's Adam Schefter simply tweeted "Assault." after the incident took place.

It was announced on Friday morning that Garrett would be suspended indefinitely, at minimum for the remainder of the regular season and postseason. While Rudolph's agent Tim Younger said that Rudolph isn't ruling out any legal options in the aftermath of the incident.

Beachum was surprised to see the NFL act so quickly, but was pleased with the league's ruling.

"It's reassuring to see that they're quick on it, considering everything that happened," Beachum told reporters. "To see them move that fast with something that happened last night, you haven't seen that in a while."

Jets running back, and former Steelers star, Le'Veon Bell also chimed in on the fight.

"I mean, right when that happened I knew that was going to happen," Bell told reporters. "Like, 'He's done for the year.' ... That's just too far. Entirely too far. It's unprofessional, for real. And obviously I just knew the league was going to do its job and have to suspend him."

After Rudolph was hit in the head, a scrum between Browns and Steelers players took place. Most noticeably, was Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey defending his quarterback by hitting Garrett almost immediately. Pouncey was issued a three-game suspension for punching and kicking Garrett.

Beachum mentioned how he would have acted similar to Pouncey if his quarterback was in a similar situation.

"I would have done the same thing," Beachum told reporters. "No doubt. Without question. I grew up in the culture, like you saw last night, where you protect your quarterback. So I would have done the same thing."

The aftermath of the Browns-Steelers fight will likely linger for a while, as both teams were fined $250,000 each. Beachum and others will have to wait and see if Garrett is subject to off-the-field penalties, though, Cleveland police told USA Today Sports that no charges have been filed agaist Garrett.
