The Jets will be adding three more faces to their Ring of Honor this season, as Darrelle Revis, Nick Mangold and D'Brickashaw Ferguson were announced the newest members of the group.

All three players are no brainers considering their time with the team in the 2000s. Owner Woody Johnson made the announcement via Twitter on Thursday, but he surprised all three during a podcast that former QB Mark Sanchez and Mangold were supposed to film. Little did Mangold know it was all a big surprise for him and his former teammates:

"This is a special day for the Jets, and I just want to let you know that all three of you guys are going to be inducted into our Ring of Honor," Johnson said. "It’s the highest award we can give you and thank you for the legendary work you did with the New York Jets. We’re so proud of all of you and look forward to sharing that work with you.”

Revis is a future Hall of Famer and he'll certainly go in as a Jet after spending eight of his 11 seasons in the league with Gang Green. He totaled 112 passes defended as one of the best lockdown corners to ever play the game, while also hauling in 25 interceptions.

"It’s just an honor to actually celebrate this with you guys," Revis said, talking to Ferguson and Mangold. "We’ve done so much. I will always go to bat for you three guys. We’ve done it for a number of years when we played together.”

Mangold and Ferguson will forever be linked from their 2006 NFL Draft class, as the Jets selected both of them in the first round. Ferguson, at left tackle, and Mangold, running point at center, were mainstays on the O-line as they helped lead the pack there for 10 seasons together.

"When you talk about memories, you always think about the championship games when we were really rolling and it felt like we were invincible. I feel like those times are things you don’t forget. You always remember them no matter where you are in life," Ferguson explained.

Mangold added: “This is a shock. Thank you so much, this is awesome. Amazing especially being with two of my guys. Revis, it’s outstanding just being on the team with you. Your presence was amazing. To have this honor with you is awesome. And then Brick, we started this together back in Mobile, Alabama. Now we close it up together, so that’s something very special to me.”

Ferguson ended up getting honored with three Pro Bowl seasons, while Mangold was always the AFC's center in that Pro Bowl game it seemed, collecting seven of them over his career.

No date has been set yet for the halftime ceremony that will forever enshrine these three great Jets among some of the franchise's best.
