The Jets and running back Dalvin Cook have mutually agreed to part ways, according to Cook's agency.

The move allows Cook to pursue an opportunity with a potential playoff team.

Cook, 28, signed with Gang Green to a one-year, $7.8 million deal before the start of the 2023-24 season, but just didn't produce in the way either party anticipated. In 15 games, Cook rushed for 214 yards on 67 attempts and caught 15 passes for 78 yards.

Prior to signing with the Jets, Cook spent six seasons with the Minnesota Vikings and had four straight seasons of 1,000-plus rushing yards, including in 2022 when he rushed for 1,173 yards on 264 attempts.
