Who is starting for the Mets?
LHP Jason Vargas (4-5, 4.25 ERA/1.28 WHIP), who is coming off a quality start against the Minnesota Twins on the road, allowing just three runs on five hits and a walk while striking out four over six innings. Vargas has a 3.42 ERA since April 19 and has a 2.16 ERA at Citi Field.
Who is starting for the Padres?
RHP Chris Paddack (6-4, 2.70 ERA/0.87 WHIP), who is coming off a dominant outing in which he allowed just one hit -- a solo home run -- over 7.2 innings while striking out eight against the Marlins. ... Paddack struck out 11 over 7.2 innings in his last start against the Mets on May 6.
