"I'm just focused on this team."

If the Jets weren't going through enough with their quarterback situation, injury woes, and falling to 0-2, Jamal Adams added to the pile on Tuesday morning when he removed the Jets from his social media bios on Twitter and Instagram.

In this day and age, that is to normally send a message to a team. But speaking on WFAN with Maggie Gray and Bart Scott, Adams assured everyone that wasn't the case.

"It's social media. At the end of the day, it's outside noise. I'm not focused on that," Adams said when Gray asked what we should make of the changes.

Gray prodded a bit, but Adams didn't budge from his initial answer. Instead, he opened up more about other things like confirming that the Jets benched him for the final five plays of the game.

"Yeah, I was benched. They benched me," Adams said. "I tried to anticipate a play which I anticipated wrong and I was benched. Hey, it happens. I just gotta continue to do my job to the best of my ability as well as lead the guys around me."

Adams added that he didn't know why he was benched, but during his conference call on Tuesday, head coach Adam Gase noted the reasoning being more to calm Adams down given back-to-back penalties called against him. Gase said, "I'm sure at that point in the game he was extremely frustrated."

And he definitely is, as Adams can't stand losing.

"Just losing, it's not really rocket science with me," he said. "Just frustrated losing and things happen obviously and like I said we have to stay together and keep working."

Does Adams want to continue working in New York? Some believe that's wavering given his social media move, but he denied any inkling that he and the Jets can't get back to winning.

"I believe so, I strongly believe so," Adams said when asked if he can win in New York. "It's special here."
