So far during the 2021 MLB season, Mets ace Jacob deGrom has been on another planet, dismantling opposing batters with ease as his already otherworldly stuff has somehow gotten better than it was in 2020.

Here are 10 of the ridiculous stats he has put up through his first nine starts...

0.62 ERA

The conventional wisdom is that deGrom's ERA will eventually shoot up, but it hasn't yet -- to the point where deGrom's ERA is the lowest ever for any pitcher through the first nine starts of a season.

The second-best ERA in the NL belongs to Kevin Gausman (1.27) of the San Francisco Giants. The best ERA in the AL belongs to Texas Rangers right-hander Kyle Gibson at 2.06.

99th percentile

A look at Baseball Savant will take you beyond the standard numbers and give you a deeper look at just how dominant deGrom has been.

And when it comes to his chase rate, strikeout rate, xBA, xwOBA, and xERA, he's in the 99th percentile.

0.57 WHIP

It can be argued that deGrom's miniscule WHIP is actually more impressive than his ERA.

The second-best WHIP in the NL is owned by Corbin Burnes of the Milwaukee Brewers, whose WHIP is 0.71 (his ERA is 1.97).

14.43 K/9

Strikeouts are up across baseball, but deGrom and Burnes are in a league of their own here, with deGrom edging Burnes (14.3 K/9) for the best mark among big league starters.

3.7 fWAR

DeGrom's total fWAR of 3.7 is the best in baseball, with Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (3.5), Burnes (3.3), Nick Castellanos (3.0), and Gerrit Cole (3.0) rounding out the top five.

99.3 mph average fastball velocity

There has been a ton of attention paid to the number of pitches deGrom has thrown this season at 100 mph or higher, with the fastest one reaching 102.

But the fact that his average fastball velocity has been 99.3 is just nuts.

3.9 hits per 9

To put in perspective just how stingy deGrom has been with allowing hits this season, Pedro Martinez allowed 5.3 hits per 9 in 2000 and Bob Gibson allowed 5.8 hits per 9 in 1968. The best mark ever achieved by Sandy Koufax was 5.8 in 1965.

.391/.391/.435 triple slash

He hits, too.

DeGrom has nine hits in 23 at-bats this season, driving in four runs along the way.

8 walks all season

After walking three batters against the Arizona Diamondbacks on May 9 in his last start before a brief IL stint, deGrom has walked one batter in his last 18 innings, spanning three starts.

623 ERA+

DeGrom's ERA+, which adjusts ERA according to the pitcher's ballpark and league, is an obscene 623. DeGrom's best-ever ERA+ was in 2018, when it was 218.
