Maybe this can be considered a guarantee, maybe not.
At the very least, Robin Lehner's comments to the New York Post Tuesday before the Islanders traveled to Raleigh for Game 3 reflect the great amount of confidence the Islanders maintain despite trailing 2-0 in their second-round series against Carolina.
"It's not a big deal. We're just going to go down there and win," Lehner told The Post.
"It's a pretty simple game plan. We're going to score one goal more than they do next game, then go from there and win another one."
Not much separated the two teams during the first two games in Brooklyn, but the Islanders scored just one goal in 124:04 and hit the road needing to win at least once to bring the series back to Barclays Center.
One thing potentially going in the Islanders' favor is that Hurricanes goalie Petr Mrazek will miss Wednesday's Game 3, meaning backup Curtis McElhinney will start in goal. The Isles will need to make it harder for McElhinney than they did during Sunday's third period.
Cal Clutterbuck could miss Game 3, which would be a tough blow for the Islanders to take. But if Michael Dal Colle tags in, he perhaps could help spark the Islanders' attack.
