Mathew Barzal will represent the Islanders at the 2020 NHL All-Star game, the team announced on Monday.
Barzal, 22, currently leads the Islanders in multiple statistics this season, including goals (16), points (17), assists (16), plus-minus (10), and naturally, total points with 33.
The Isles were represented by Barzal at last year's All-Star extravaganza as well, the first two of his young career.
During his 2017-18 rookie season, Barzal led the Islanders with 85 points, earning him the Calder Trophy, awarded to the NHL's Rookie of the Year. Over the past two seasons, he took over the team's No. 1 center role following the departure of former captain John Tavares to the Maple Leafs via free agency.
Since 2017-18, Barzal hasn't missed a game for the Islanders and in 201 straight games, he's amassed 180 points (56 goals, 124 assists).
Barzal was the team's first-round pick at the 2015 NHL draft.
This year's All-Star weekend will take place in St. Louis. The skills competition will take place on Jan. 24 with the All-Star Game taking place on Jan. 25.
