The Yankees' outfield may see yet another player hit the Injured List, as Mike Tauchman had to leave Sunday night's game against the Red Sox early with left calf tightness.

Tauchman had been dealing with soreness there in the days prior, but it got to the point where he couldn't run any longer -- with head athletic trainer Steve Donahue helping him off the field.

"I felt it grab up on me," Tauchman told The Post's Dan Martin. "It's incredibly disheartening."

The 28-year-old hasn't been playing well recently, hitting .172/.294/.310 in his last 10 games. Still, Tauchman has been a major factor this second half with his .315/.395/.582 slash line with nine homers and 30 RBI.

Plus, Aaron Hicks hit a setback during his rehab down in Tampa, as he continues to deal with the right flexor strain in his elbow. And while Giancarlo Stanton continues to progress, he still isn't close to a return.

So it will be up to Cameron Maybin and Clint Frazier to be the next men up if Tauchman does need to hit the IL after he undergoes tests. Manager Aaron Boone spoke about Maybin on Sunday night, noting that he will see more time now.

"He'll play a lot and we'll continue to monitor how he's doing," Boone said.

Maybin was dealing with an injury himself recently, with his left wrist bothering him. But that was luckily a day-to-day situation. He's having a good year as well with the Yanks, providing quality at-bats over 66 games with a .293 average and .369 on-base percentage.

The Yankees have been resilient with their depth players stepping up, but this is the point in the season -- leading up to the postseason -- where you want as many players as possible at full strength. We'll see if Tauchman can be that way very soon.
