As the shock and disbelief of the Giants' Odell Beckham Jr. trade to the Browns wears off, it is time to dissect whether or not they got a good enough haul in return.

The Giants gave up a top-3 wide receiver in his prime for a first and third-round pick plus a young safety in Jabrill Peppers.

While Beckham may have been a headache for some within the organization, was that enough of a return for a star wide receiver?

Here is a look at some recent deals involving wide receiver and what they went for in return:

Antonio Brown to the Raiders

It is not often arguably the two best wide receivers in the league are traded within days of each other, but that is exactly what happened this year, although Brown's trade to the Raiders was under completely different circumstances.

Brown is 30 years old and will turn 31 next season and no longer had any desire to play with the Steelers and demanded his way out of town. In return, the Steelers received only a third and fifth-round pick.

Jarvis Landry to the Browns

Landry, Beckham's new teammate and former LSU teammate, was traded from the Dolphins to the Browns for a 2018 fourth-round pick and a seventh-round pick in 2019 last March. Landry was a receiver in his prime but is also a tier below Beckham and Brown as far as elite receivers go. Still, Landry was a three-time Pro Bowler and just 25 years old at the time of the deal and the Browns did not need to go higher than a fourth.

Amari Cooper to the Cowboys

Now we might be getting into overpay territory. The Oakland Raiders sent Cooper to the Cowboys during the middle of the 2018 season and received Dallas' 2019 first-round pick in return. Cooper, 24, was struggling in Oakland and the deal was considered to be a steal for the Raiders, but the wide receiver was rejuvenated in Dallas, earning a Pro Bowl selection in 2018.

How the Raiders use that first-round pick will ultimately tell the tale of this trade, though.

DeMaryius Thomas to the Texans

Another mid-season deal in 2018, the Denver Broncos sent Thomas to Houston in exchange for a fourth-round pick while the two teams also swapped seventh-round picks. Thomas, 31, helped the Texans to a 5-3 finish while the Broncos rid themselves of a $14 million cap hit in 2019.

Brandin Cooks to Patriots

The Saints dealt a 23-year-old Cooks in 2017 to the Patriots after he posted back-to-back 1,100 yard seasons with at least eight touchdowns, so naturally, the cost was pretty high. The Patriots gave up their first round pick (No. 32 overall) and their third-round pick in order to land the young receiver and a fourth-round pick.

The Saints used their picks on OT Ryan Ramczyk and DE Trey Hendrickson.

Brandin Cooks to Rams

Cooks did not last long on the Patriots, though. While productive (65 catches for 1,082 yards and seven TDs) the Pats flipped the 24-year-old to the Rams and received Los Angeles' 2018 first-round pick and a sixth-round pick.

The Rams signed Cooks to a five-year, $80 million deal and he had a career-year with them in 2018. Meanwhile, the Patriots used that first-round pick to sign OT Isaiah Wynn, who did not play last year because of injury.
