This offseason, Giants QB Davis Webb's personality has been on full display.

During practice at the Giants' three-day mandatory minicamp this past week, Webb slung a pass toward TE Kyle Carter who was in one-on-one coverage. And before the ball even reached its peak in the air, he knew it was destined for a score.

"That's six!," he yelled for The Post's Paul Schwartz and the rest watching practice to hear.

Luckily, Carter did make it six points, hauling in the pass over his defended in the corner of the end zone. Webb knew it was going to be a tough throw to make, but he chanced it anyway.

"I threw it into a tight window, for sure," Webb said. "I'm rolling out, get out of the pocket and kinda get the defense off-balance a little bit. Kyle did a great job of getting on top of the cornerback; I gave him a chance and he made a good play."

Webb's play on the field and beaming personality shows his confidence heading into camp this season. And though Eli Manning is the Giants' go-to man under center this season, Webb realizes that the backup position is up for grabs with him being the favorite to win the job. His other competition -- 2018 fourth-rounder Kyle Lauletta and journeyman Alex Tanney -- haven't spent an entire year studying and working behind the scenes like he has.

It is no secret that Manning's career is coming to an end soon, and Webb can set himself up to take over by serving as the Giants' backup as he continues to learn under the 37-year-old. If Webb continues to impress, the Giants could virtually ease Webb into Manning's role once he decides to walk off into the sunset.

But filling Manning's two-time Super Bowl-champion shoes is no easy task. Luckily for the Giants, Webb's work ethic reflects that of Manning's. A perfect example is Webb not taking any time off in the month he has before training camp.

"This isn't time off, this is time away," he said. "I don't want to be away. I'm 23 years old, hopefully retirement's a long way from now. Whenever I'm done coaching or playing, then I'll take my vacation time."

Webb will be home in Texas, but he will continue prepping for his training camp QB battle at Prosper High School, where his father is a coach. He even has goals he wishes to reach in time the before camp, which includes increasing his knowledge of the protections schemes, better understanding of certain routes, and moving better around the pocket.

It is preparation and attention to detail like this that Webb believes will make him the player he wants to be.

"I want to be a good player," he said. I'm not there yet. I want to be good and I'm gonna try to do as much as I can to get good."

Webb's preparation will be tested on July 25 when all players return to the Giants' facility for the start of training camp.
