The Giants have found their quarterback.
Big Blue has reached an agreement with veteran Russell Wilson, SNY's Connor Hughes confirms.
The deal is for one year, $10.5 million with a chance to earn up to $21 million, according to numerous reports.
After moving on from struggling starter Daniel Jones last year and retaining just Tommy DeVito in a revolving door of mediocre backups on expiring contracts, Big Blue's top priority became finding a new man under center throughout this offseason.
Rumors over the past few months have indicated that they'd be targeting either Miami's Cam Ward or Colorado's Shedeur Sanders as the QB of the future in the upcoming draft, but they've long been connected to some of the top veterans available to help pave the way.
Jameis Winston was brought in to serve as the backup on a two-year deal late last week, but reports indicated that move wouldn't affect the team's pursuit of a starting-caliber gunslinger, or how they would approach the draft, and now they've landed Wilson just a few days later.
The 36-year-old missed time at the beginning of last season due to a leg injury, but after returning and taking over for now Jets QB Justin Fields, he went 6-5 and led the Steelers to their second consecutive playoff appearance.
He hit a bit of a rough patch, losing four straight down the stretch including a Wild Card blowout loss to the Ravens, but still threw for an impressive 2,482 yards and 16 touchdowns.
Wilson, a 10-time Pro Bowler, has a record of 121-77-1 in his career and one Super Bowl victory.
He's been known as one of the top deep-ball passers in the game, which should be a huge boost for developing star receiver Malik Nabers and a Giants offense that has failed to move the ball down the field over the past few seasons.
