Move all but ends Zak DeOssie's career with Giants

Special teams play is Joe Judge's calling card, and the Giants made an upgrade on that front on Wednesday afternoon.

The team announced the signing of long snapper Casey Kreiter on Wednesday, inking the former Broncos' Pro Bowl selection.

The 29-year-old former Iowa Hawkeye began his NFL career the way just about all long snappers do, as an undrafted free agent. After spending two training camps with the Dallas Cowboys in 2014 and 2015, Kreiter signed with Denver in 2016 and won the starting job there.

From 2017-19, Kreiter played in every game for the Broncos, and after a mistake-free season in 2018, he was named to his first Pro Bowl.

Kreiter is now the third long snapper on the Giants roster, though he clearly has the edge over Colin Holba and Drew Scott

This signing all but signals the official end of Zak DeOssie's time with Big Blue. Knee and wrist injuries landed DeOssie on IR last season, and his 13-year tenure with the Giants is now all but over. DeOssie made two Pro Bowls with the Giants and snapped in both of their most recent Super Bowl wins.
