The Giants released rookie linebacker Tuzar Skipper Tuesday afternoon, in favor of veteran linebacker Deone Bucannon.

Bucannon, a Washington State product who was drafted 27th overall in the 2014 NFL Draft, has played in 75 regular season games in his career, including 56 starts over the course of his time with the Cardinals and Buccaneers.

The six year vet has career totals of 395 tackles (302 solo), 7.0 sacks and two interceptions. Bucannon has also defended 12 passes and forced seven fumbles-- recovering five of them.

Having most recently played in Tampa Bay, Bucannon has been on the field for five games so far this season, including the Buccaneers matchup with the Giants in Week 3 this season. Bucannon was released by the Bucs on Oct. 9.

Skipper appeared in six games for the Giants after being picked up off waivers from the Steelers in September. He assisted on two tackles, had half a sack and a special teams tackle in his time with Big Blue.
