The Giants lost another safety on Friday when Curtis Riley tweeted he was joining the Raiders.

While the Giants acquired Jabrill Peppers in the blockbuster Odell Beckham Jr. trade earlier this month, their secondary took a massive hit after infamously not placing the franchise tag on Landon Collins, letting him walk and eventually sign a six-year deal with the Washington Redskins.

At safety, the Giants have Peppers, the former first-round pick who recorded 79 combined tackles, five passes defensed and one interception for Cleveland last year, and they signed veteran Antoine Bethea, who recorded 120 combined tackles, four passes defensed and three sacks for the Arizona Cardinals last year.

Michael Thomas also returns to the Giants' secondary, coming off a Pro Bowl season in which he totaled 59 combined tackles, six passes defensed and two picks.

But losing Riley, a 26-year-old safety who intercepted four passes (including one pick-six) and defensed five passes in 16 games, means New York's secondary would take a hit.

At cornerback, the Giants still have Janoris Jenkins, who had two picks, 70 combined tackles and 15 passes defensed last season, and Sam Beal, a former supplemental draft pick who missed last season due to injury.
