Just about all of the conversations about the Giants taking place in Miami for Super Bowl LIV have centered around Eli Manning's Hall of Fame candidacy.

From former teammates like Kurt Warner to Giants legends like Lawrence Taylor, Manning has been quite the conversation.

On Thursday, another of Manning's former teammates, Saquon Barkley, gave his take on whether or not the recently retired quarterback should make the Hall of Fame.

"For me, I think when you look at it, he checks it off. He checks everything off," Barkley said on Radio Row. "Two-time Super Bowl MVP, two-time Super Bowl winner. I don't know how many times there's been a two-time Super Bowl MVP. There's probably only been like five, if that.

"He's top 10 in all the categories and he did it the right way also, especially in the New York market. I'm a fan of his. I want him to be in the Hall of Fame. I know he's going to be in the Hall of Fame."

Barkley also spoke about Manning's decision to retire, rather than play for another franchise. While Manning never made his intentions known within the locker room, Barkley says that the writing was on the wall for Manning to call it a career.

"There was a sense in the locker room," Barkley said. "Obviously, he never came out and said it, so I was surprised. I made sure that the last game I got one of his jerseys at least and we traded jerseys. … It's sad to see him go but he gave the game a great 16 years, two-time Super Bowl MVP, and he got to go out on his own and got to go out as a Giant."

Barkley, who has rushed for 2,310 yards while recording 23 total touchdowns during his first two seasons, will now be working in a new offense under head coach Joe Judge and offensive coordinator Jason Garrett.

When asked about any personal goals for next season, Barkley focused on the team goal, rather than anything individual.

"I don't write down individual goals. I put what the main goal is, and the main goal is to win a championship. That's got to be the main goal," Barkley said.
