As if breaking multiple tackles in his 68-yard touchdown run wasn't impressive enough, Giants rookie running back Saquon Barkley has another accomplishment.

The No. 2 pick out of Penn State was named the most elusive running back in Week 1, according to Pro Football Focus.

PFF measures elusive rating to determine which players are the most difficult to tackle. It takes missed tackles, total number of touches and yards per carry after contact into account, and Barkley's long touchdown run was a big proponent in that.

On second-and-3 from the Giants 32, Barkley was hit once at the 34, slipped through another tackle at the 35, ran to the outside and down the right sideline, where not even a diving Tashaun Gipson Sr. could stop him.

"Obviously you wish that they were all 75- and 80-yard runs," Barkley said after Sunday's game. "But it wasn't like that in college and I didn't expect it to be like that in the NFL. You have to take what they give you. It's kind of like playing chess. When you get your opportunity, you have to execute."

Added head coach Pat Shurmur: "It was a great run."

Barkley totaled 106 rushing yards on 18 carries, second only to the Steelers' James Conner, and 22 receiving yards on two catches in his pro debut. His 131.9 elusive rating was ahead of the Vikings' Dalvin Cook (127.8) and the Titans' Dion Lewis (114).

In fact, Barkley was so impressive that even Jaguars star defensive end Calais Campbell had high praise.

"Coming into the NFL against a team like ours, and making some of the plays he made, that kid's going to be special," Campbell said. "I traded jerseys with him after the game because I was like, 'OK, if he can stay healthy, he might one day be a Hall of Famer.' So now, I'll get his jersey when he's young."
