The Giants are bringing back one of their own, re-signing wide receiver Darius Slayton.

SNY NFL Insider Connor Hughes confirms that the pact is three years and $36 million.

This is one of Big Blue's more surprising moves early in free agency, as most reports over the past few months have indicated that the veteran would likely land elsewhere after hitting the open market, but instead he returns to the Big Apple once again.

It is a nice fit, as Slayton earns himself a decent pay raise and the Giants land a strong WR2 alongside Malik Nabers.

The 28-year-old established himself as one of New York's most consistent receivers after being selected in the fifth-round of the 2019 Draft -- quickly blossoming into a reliable weapon for Daniel Jones, leading the team in receiving in four of his first five seasons.

With Nabers taking over as the go-to weapon in Big Blue's offense last year, Slayton ultimately saw his role decrease significantly, leading to him requesting to be moved in a deal ahead of the deadline.

New York ultimately decided to hang onto him, and now they've brought him back long-term on the first day of free agency.

Slayton is not only a big-bodied downfield target, but he's also one of the most respected leaders in the Giants' locker room, so he'll serve as a strong veteran presence as Nabers continues to learn the ropes at the pro ranks.

It remains to be seen who will be throwing them passes next season.
