Giants safety Jabrill Peppers is one of three Giants players that played on an NFL team that will live in infamy.

Peppers was the Browns' first-round pick at the 2017 NFL draft. His first win as a professional football player wouldn't come in his rookie year as the Browns became only the second team in league history to go 0-16 that year.

But Peppers, who was traded to the Giants this offseason in a deal that sent wideout Odell Beckham Jr. the other way, recently revealed that he has fond learning experiences from that brutal season. He's happy it happened and takes positives from it.

"I'm thankful for it. It made me appreciate the little things, how something so small can affect the game," Peppers told NJ.com. "It isn't always about hard work. Hard work only gives you a chance to win. It's about execution. The team who executes the best will win on Sundays, not the team who works the hardest. On this level, everyone works hard. Are you executing when you work hard?"

Peppers was brought in to help shore up things in the New York secondary which allowed 252.8 passing yards per game last season, good for 23rd best in the NFL. Based on his sentiments, Peppers will clearly leave no stone unturned in his approach to game days with Big Blue.

Offensive lineman Kevin Zeitler, who was acquired in the same trade with the Browns in an effort to bolster the Giants offensive line, echoed Peppers. A feeling such as that is something he's still carrying with him because he wants to avoid it.

"I don't ever want to go through something like that again. It's not good for people's health," Zeitler said. "One of the goals I have is to make sure that never happens again."
