Giants LB Olivier Vernon (ankle) returned to practice Wednesday on a limited basis.
Vernon has not played yet this season, but head coach Pat Shurmur said Wednesday that he and CB Eli Apple (who remained out due to a groin injury) were "coming along."
"They're getting better," Shurmur said. "We're hopeful. They should be out there on the field. Again, we're hopeful that they'll be back. High ankle sprain and then the groin, there's not always a timeline on those.
Along with Apple, LB Connor Barwin (knee), TE Evan Engram (knee), CB Antonio Hamilton (groin), DL Damon Harrison (knee), WR Cody Latimer (knee), and RB Jonathan Stewart (foot) were all out.
Harrison's absence is something to keep an eye on.
He missed part of the second half of Week 3's win over the Texans, but seemed to indicate Tuesday that he had received encouraging injury news.
