New Giants head coach Joe Judge will be given the freedom to pick his own staff -- and hasn't asked to interview Jason Garrett as his offensive coordinator.
The Giants did request to interview the former Cowboys coach, but only for their vacant head coaching spot prior to hiring Judge on Tuesday. The Giants requested to speak with Garrett right after he was fired by Dallas on Sunday, Vacchiano reported.
Instead, the Giants will stand back and Judge will have the liberty to pick and choose his own coaches, as he prepares to man his own staff for the first time in the NFL. The former Patriots special teams/wide receivers coach has yet to indicate whom he would like to add to the team.
