Despite the Giants' slim playoff hopes being officially shattered with a 17-0 loss to the Titans on Sunday, Odell Beckham Jr. could still play the final two games.

The star receiver is battling a bruised quad, which he called a "hematoma" in a Facebook video on Friday, yet head coach Pat Shurmur said that he will not shut Beckham down for the season if he is cleared to play.

"No. He's like every other player and we're trying to get him back this Sunday," Shurmur told reporters on Monday. "He's a valuable member of our team...if he's healthy we'll get him out there."

Beckham, 26, has missed the last two games with a bruised quad he sustained after Eagles linebacker Kamu Grugier-Hill tripped him on the final play of the game in Week 12 but Shurmur remained "hopeful" that Beckham would return against the Colts this Sunday.

"Odell is going through treatment and doing everything he can to get back," Shurmur said. "We're hopeful he'll work his way back for this Sunday. He feels better today than he did last week."

Last week, Beckham told reporters "s--t ain't right" when discussing the injury and while he played in Week 13 against the Bears, he added in his Facebook video on Friday that it was not until Thursday's practice before a Week 14 matchup with the Redskins when he "felt something weird" happen.

It was the same Facebook video in which Beckham categorized his bruised quad as a hematoma, but Shurmur downplayed the receiver's social media comments.

"I didn't spend much time on Facebook," Shurmur said. "I work with him on a daily basis and he's doing what he can to come back from this injury. No comment on the Facebook part of it."

Shurmur also added that he would not be easing off any player the final two games, when asked a similar question regarding Saquon Barkley.

"Listen, it's a dangerous game at times, but guys are very competitive and want to play," he said. "And I think it's important if guys are healthy enough, they play."
