All NFL teams have until 4 p.m. on Tuesday to franchise tag players they wish not to see on the free agent market, but many have already made their tags.

And that's probably going to be a very good thing for Giants free agent TE Evan Engram

No, he's not getting tagged by Big Blue (they don't have the cap space to tag anyone). But multiple top tight ends who were expected to be big names in free agency won't be there now, and that only benefits the former first-rounder who is certainly going to get a few more calls.

The Dallas Cowboys have tagged Dalton Schultz, who had a breakout 2021 and proved to be everything a team wants in a tight end -- a pass-catcher who is proficient in his blocking snaps. There was also the Cleveland Browns tagging David Njoku, and the Miami Dolphins tagged Mike Gesicki

Of course, there are more tight ends out there like Zach Ertz, C.J. Uzomah, Eric Ebron and more. But not many have the skill set that Engram does with his speed and size. He does have his history of drops, but at 27 years old, there is going to be a team that wants him.

And now, some of his biggest competition isn't available.

Engram's current market value is sitting around $6.7 million per season, according to Spotrac.

That might have just gone up a bit.
