The Giants battled hard against the Bengals in Week 6, but they eventually fell, 17-7, dropping to 2-4 on the year.
Can they bounce back against an Eagles team that is seeking some consistency?
Here are the biggest stories to watch as the Giants look to get back into the win column...
How will the Giants replace Andrew Thomas?
Thomas had surgery to repair a Lisfranc fracture in his foot, which will sideline the Pro Bowler for the remainder of the season. This is a serious blow to New York’s re-tooled offensive line, and they will be forced to adjust.
Opinion is split on whether the Giants should promote Joshua Ezeudu back into the starting lineup or give disappointing former top 10 pick Evan Neal another chance.
Ezeudu has started seven games over the past two seasons but allowed eight sacks. Despite recent struggles and injury issues of his own, Neal is arguably a more intriguing option due to his untapped potential. Could a move back to left tackle, where he thrived with Alabama in 2021, be the catalyst for him to find the consistency that eluded him on the right in his first two seasons with the Giants?
Will Malik Nabers and Devin Singletary return?
Despite being without their top running back and wide receiver, the Giants’ offense performed well over the past two weeks. The status for each of them remains up in the air, but there is optimism that one or both should be back.
With Daniel Jones finding a rhythm and developing chemistry with multiple targets over the past two weeks, adding Nabers back into the mix could have a significant impact. In Singletary’s absence, rookie Tyrone Tracy has broken out, so the pair could now split playing time and remain fresh into the fourth quarter.
One place where Nabers and Singletary’s return would really help the Giants is in the red zone. The pair have combined for five of New York’s nine offensive touchdowns despite only playing three games each.
Can the Giants avoid turning the ball over?
Even though Jones has only thrown four interceptions, the Giants have been hurt by fumbles as they’ve turned the ball over at least once in every game. However, they are facing an Eagles team that has only forced two turnovers all season.
