Giants GM Dave Gettleman declared earlier this offseason that Big Blue was "open for business" when it came to potentially trading back in the 2020 NFL Draft. And he added fuel to the fire on Friday.

"It's something I will very seriously entertain," Gettleman said during a conference call.

"We're sitting there with the fourth pick in the draft. I'm gonna make calls. Anybody that wants to move up I'm gonna say 'listen, we don't have much time. We can't fool around,'" Gettleman explained. "I'd like to get the parameters of a deal in place before we're on the clock. That would be the best thing."

Noting that the league would be having a mock draft in advance of Thursday's fully virtual draft in order to get used to the process, Gettleman said that he's comfortable with how the Giants have prepared.

"The biggest piece is making sure that we, meaning the Giants, are coordinated in how we're gonna approach the trade process. We'll have two veteran guys on it," Gettleman said, adding that he believes most of the trades around the league (whether it's teams trading up or down) will be agreed to in advance of the draft.

As the Giants decide whether or not to trade back from No. 4, they could be impacted in a big way by what the Lions do at No. 3.

In the event Detroit sits tight and drafts cornerback Jeff Okudah (with Joe Burrow and Chase Young expected to go No. 1 to the Bengals and No. 2 to the Redskins), New York could be in a very advantageous position -- holding the pick that a handful of quarterback-needy teams could want.

SNY's Ralph Vacchiano has reported that Gettleman is truly serious about trading back -- something he has never done in any draft. And if the above scenario plays out, the Giants might be able to move back from No. 4 while potentially still landing one of the "big four" offensive linemen they covet.

The Miami Dolphins (No. 5), Los Angeles Chargers (No. 6), Carolina Panthers (No. 7), and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (No. 14) could all be looking to trade up and nab a quarterback.

While the Bucs have Tom Brady for the next two seasons, they could easily be in search of someone for him to groom as his replacement.

Beyond Burrow, the top quarterbacks available include Justin Herbert and Tua Tagovailoa, who are both expected to go in the top half of the first round.
