Jaguars stud defensive end Yannick Ngakoue still hasn't been granted his wish of finding a new team this offseason. Jacksonville hit him with the franchise tag, and according to CBS Sports, owner Shad Khan is reportedly not really willing to move him at the moment.
But with the NFL Draft kicking off in two weeks, ESPN's Adam Schefter believes the Jaguars have to move Ngakoue either before or during it, or "they've got a mess on their hands," he told 97.5 The Fanatic. Ngakoue has been very vocal in saying his time with the Jaguars is up.
Among the teams Schefter believes would be a potential land spot? The Giants.
Giants GM Dave Gettleman addressed some holes on his defense in free agency, but he didn't land that elite pass rusher the team desperately needs. Ngakoue would've been a free agent target had he didn't get the franchise tag. And the Giants issued their own franchise tag to Leonard Williams, which is worth $16.126 million for next season.
The Jags' price tag on Ngakoue is "a first-rounder, maybe then some," said Schefter. And whatever team would trade for him would need to be willing to sign the 25-year-old long-term at around $18 million CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora is hearing.

It wouldn't be crazy for Ngakoue to land that kind of payday, as he's collected 37.5 sacks over the past four seasons. He had eight last year with a career-high 41 tackles and 13 tackles for loss. In 2018, he saw 9.5 sacks with 33 quarterback hits, and 12 sacks with 23 quarterback hits in 2017.
The Giants currently having about $17 million in cap space, so they could definitely need to clear some room to add Ngakoue. But don't count them out for a team that could spark a trade with Jacksonville on Draft Day.
Other than New York, the Eagles, Browns, Raiders and Seahawks are all in play.
