The Giants' overtime win over the Redskins could haunt them for years to come, with Chase Young winding up in Washington, D.C. instead of New York.

But that isn't certain yet.

There is still a chance (albeit a slim one) the Giants will wind up with the No. 2 pick and the opportunity to select Young. There is also a chance their draft position will worsen.

In Week 17, the Giants (4-11) host the Eagles, the Redskins (3-12) play the Cowboys in Dallas, and the Lions (3-11-1) host the Packers.

Here are some scenarios, with the 1-14 Bengals having already clinched the No. 1 pick:

The Giants get the No. 2 pick IF...

Giants LOSE to Eagles, Redskins WIN against Cowboys, Lions WIN against Packers.

In the above scenario, the Giants and Redskins would both finish 4-12, and the Lions would finish 4-11-1.

By virtue of the Giants' lower strength of schedule, they would get the No. 2 pick.

The Giants got some bad news on Sunday when their Week 17 game was flexed to 4:25 p.m. That means the Cowboys (who need a win and an Eagles loss to win the NFC East) will have everything to play for against the Redskins at 1 p.m.

The Giants get the No. 3 pick IF...

Giants LOSE to Eagles, Redskins LOSE to Cowboys, Lions WIN against Packers.

In the above scenario, the Giants would finish 4-12, the Redskins would finish 3-13, and the Lions would finish 4-11-1.

If the Packers lose to the Vikings Monday night, they might not have as much to play for in Week 17 since they would be on the outside looking in as far as a potential first round bye is concerned. That could bode well for the Giants when Green Bay plays Detroit.

The Giants get the No. 4 pick IF...

Giants LOSE to Eagles, Redskins LOSE to Cowboys, Lions LOSE to Packers.

In the above scenario, things would stay status quo in the No. 2 through No. 4 slots.

The Giants get the No. 5 pick (and potentially lower) IF...

Giants WIN against Eagles, Redskins LOSE to Cowboys, Lions LOSE to Packers, Dolphins LOSE to Patriots.

In the above scenario, the Giants finish 5-11, the Redskins finish 3-13, the Lions finish 3-12-1, and the Dolphins finish 4-12 -- vaulting past the Giants and into the No. 4 spot.

Based on the strength of schedule tiebreaker advantage the Giants currently have over most teams, it's unlikely they'll drop below the No. 5 spot. But a slim possibility remains that they can fall lower. Record-wise, they can fall no lower than No. 8.
