A former Giants wide receiver is staying within the division.
According to a report from NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, former Big Blue receiver Cody Latimer has agreed to a deal with the Washington Redskins.
Latimer, 27, spent the last two seasons with the Giants, totaling 35 catches for 490 yards and three touchdowns. He also returned 29 kicks for the Giants over those two seasons, averaging 23.8 yards per return.
A second-round pick in the 2014 draft, Latimer never really caught on with Denver, struggling to find playing time.
After signing with the Giants in 2018, a hamstring injury landed him on Injured Reserve, allowing him to play just six games. In 2019, Latimer appeared in 15 games for Big Blue, making 10 starts. The Indiana product found himself behind Sterling Shepard, Darius Slayton, and Golden Tate on the depth chart, though he filled in well enough when receivers went down with injuries.
The Giants re-signed Corey Coleman to a one-year deal on Monday, lessening the chances that Latimer would be brought back. Now, the former second-round pick is heading to DC.
