In a surprise, C Ryan Kalil is coming out of retirement to join the Jets, the team announced Thursday.
The 34-year-old Kalil retired after last season, but is returning on a one-year, $8.4 million deal, SNY's Ralph Vacchiano confirmed
Kalil -- who has been named to the Pro Bowl five times -- weighed in on the move when tweeting shortly after the news broke:

Kalil was limited to 14 games combined in 2016 and 2017, but played all 16 games for the Panthers last season.
With Kalil on board, the Jets' offensive line is expected to consist of Kelvin Beachum, Kelechi Osemele, Kalil, Brian Winters, and Brandon Shell.
