Rookie Dexter Lawrence came to the Giants with a nearly unblemished football record.

The defensive lineman has no notions of changing his status with the Giants.

Big Blue is viewed more in the short term as a rebuilding franchise, but Lawrence set the bar high for his career with the team. He wants a plethora of titles.

"Multiple Super Bowl wins," he told NJ.com's Darryl Slater. "Losing sucks. I hate to lose."

Off the field, a winning mindset can only help the Giants locker room. New York head coach Pat Shurmur, who had a hand in making Lawrence the No. 17 overall pick at the recent NFL draft, said in late July that so far through the summer, Lawrence's versatility as an athlete has helped the team the most on the field so far.

"He can line up on the nose, he can line up as a three [tackle] and he can line up as a five [on the outside], on the center, guard or tackle, because of his size, his quickness and his length," Shurmur said. "Generally speaking, as you get further from the ball, length is more important, and because he's got such great size, he can do that for us."

On Friday the Giants will take the field for their second exhibition game against the Chicago Bears. Lawrence will certainly be a player to watch for. He's expected to see more playing time than the six snaps he played in the Giants' preseason opener against the Jets in Week 1.
