Picture this: Odell Beckham Jr. hits a double move, loses his defender, and runs down the sideline wide open as the ball comes soaring toward him for an easy touchdown. As the team celebrates in the end zone, a No. 4 Big Blue jersey comes running toward his new favorite receiver. Wearing the jersey is the Giants new quarterback -- Derek Carr.

Now, this scenario wouldn't be until next season, but CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora offered a pretty intriguing prediction on the "Pick Six Podcast" on Wednesday.

With Jon Gruden and the Raiders blowing it up out in Oakland, no one on the roster is safe, not even their franchise quarterback that just signed a five-year deal before the start of the 2017 season. On the other hand, the Giants don't want to rebuild, but rather make moves to win now.

It is clear Eli Manning's time as the franchise quarterback is dwindling, and change could come immediately if his current level of play continues. And instead of going through the draft, why not take a veteran that has proven himself already?

La Canfora even predicts when the Giants and Raiders will make the trade.

"I think the big final play...sort of how you look at their teardown," La Canfora explained. "There were these incremental moves, and it finally ended at the draft when they move up to get Josh Allen. The final one will be Derek Carr and I don't think it will be close to the draft, I think it will be at the combine. And ultimately what's the point of keeping Derek Carr? And if you have all this draft capital and you get a one plus something else for Derek Carr, which I think he can -- I'll call it right now, Derek Carr to the New York Giants. At the combine."

It makes sense for the Raiders to get rid of Carr if they are really looking to build from the ground up. There is an opt out after this season that could save valuable cap space if he is released before the season, but Oakland would obviously want to trade him first to get something in return.

"It makes all the sense in the world to me," La Canfora continued. "The Giants don't really want to rebuild. And they don't really want to admit they screwed up by not taking a quarterback, right? So they trade what will be a fairly high [first-round pick] or maybe they do it for a future [first-round pick] if this one looks like it's giong to be top two or three. I thinkt that's what they do and they plug him right in there with Barkley, Odell and Shepard and [Evan Engram] and they try to keep that thing going."

With the Giants, Carr could be lethal with all these offensive weapons at his disposal. Also, Carr has the ability to throw on the run and escape pressure, something that is required with the Giants' leaky O-line (that will hopefully see more improvements next season as well). The question is would GM Dave Gettleman want to give up the expected first-round pick either this year or in 2020 for Carr?

It's a hypothetical scenario, but one that does make sense if schools of thought fall into place for both teams. Maybe Derek Carr can have a more fruitful career in New York than his brother, David, did during his time with Big Blue.
