Jets right tackle Brandon Shell won't have to bear the responsibility of stopping Khalil Mack, who has been ruled inactive before the team faces Chicago on the road Sunday afternoon.
Sam Darnold and the offense may have caught a break as it looks to move to .500.
Wide receiver Allen Robinson (groin) will also be out for the Bears, while Gang Green has seven inactive players: WR Robby Anderson, CB Trumaine Johnson, CB Derrick Jones, LB Kevin Pierre-Louis, OL Dakota Dozier, WR Quincy Enunwa and DL Folorunso Fatukasi.
Mack had been listed as questionable after spraining his ankle during Chicago's loss to Miami a couple of weeks ago.
