Marcus Morris has arguably been the Knicks best player so far this season, as the veteran wing is leading the team in scoring with 19.0 points per game.

He signed a one-year, $15 million deal with the team over the summer, and will become eligible to be traded on Dec. 15.

Morris' value around the league could return a first-round pick for the Knicks, and with the team's record at 5-20, they could start to move veterans on short-term contracts.

After the Knicks' 124-122 OT win over the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday night, Morris spoke about the potential of being traded.

"I'm aware of that," Morris said. "It's part of the game, but like I said in the beginning, I love being in New York, win, lose or draw. I'm here to try and help turn this thing around. I'm not really looking to get traded, that's just my personal opinion."

He scored a game-high 36 points in the win, shooting 5-for-9 from three and grabbing 10 rebounds in 36 minutes. Morris is now shooting a career-high 48.9 percent from three this season in 23 games, something that definitely increases his trade value.

"That's my approach, but this is the NBA," Morris said. "I'd rather help turn this thing around. Melo (Carmelo Anthony) said it best: Some guys aren't built for New York. I'm built for New York. I'd rather be here. I'd rather help."

Morris was even praised by former head coach David Fizdale for his leadership earlier this season, and that is playing a role in his trade value.

"Teams love his leadership and he's been shooting incredibly well," a representative for one Eastern Conference team said. "You can easily see them getting a late first-round pick for him if that team feels Marcus pushes them over the top."
