Gary Sanchez just can't seem to shake this slump.

The Yankee catcher has been having a bounce-back year, but his results at the plate over the last month have been similar to what he experienced in a miserable 2018 season.

Since the start of his slump on June 21 to yesterday's 0-for-5 performance against the Twins, "The Kraken" is hitting a paltry .143/.217/.250 with a minuscule .467 OPS over 84 at-bats. That's an entirely different Sanchez than the one that posted a .269/.338/.625 slash line with 22 homers and 50 RBI before that stretch.

Manager Aaron Boone hasn't been sweating Sanchez' struggles, saying that he's simply just missing up at the plate. The results should come soon in his eyes, and he explained why.

"I feel he is getting his 'A' swing off a lot. He gets a pitch [to hit]. He is fouling that pitch off," Boone explained to The Post's George A. King III after last night's loss to the Twins. "He is expanding the strike zone right now and that could be the result of him chasing [pitches]. I have talked to him about making sure he is focused and making sure he is having good at-bats. Gary's talent and swing will lead to success. I don't think he is that far off."

Some believed that Sanchez' thumb injury that he sustained in London against the Red Sox could actually be more than the Yankees are saying it is. However, Boone and Sanchez both said there is nothing wrong health-wise.

"The hand is good," Sanchez said. "Pitches in the zone I usually connect. Now I am fouling them off. Keep working and find a way to get back on track."

Through this slump Sanchez' average has fallen from .274 to .233. He is still slugging .517 thanks to 24 homers, nine doubles, and one triple on the season.

Hopefully Sanchez, who was the American League's starting catcher in the All-Star Game, can get back on track soon as the Yankees would love to see his power bat back to its normal ways.
